This guide walks you through the documents required for CBSE school admission in Bengaluru. Use it as a list you can check off before your visit.
CBSE schools follow board rules. In Bengaluru, they also follow state rules set by the Karnataka Department of Public Instruction. These rules exist to confirm your child’s age, identity and address.
Karnataka schools follow the Registration of Births and Deaths Act too. That is why a birth certificate sits at the top of every list. Get your papers ready early. It saves you a second trip to the school office.
Every school has its own exact list. But most CBSE schools in Bengaluru ask for the same core papers. Here is what to keep handy for your child and for yourself.
1. Birth Certificate: Issued by the municipal corporation, BBMP or the hospital. Schools use this to confirm your child’s date of birth.
2. Aadhaar Card: This is the primary identity proof. If your child does not have an Aadhaar Card, some schools accept parent’s/legal guardian’s Aadhaar along with the child’s birth certificate.
